This project involved Structural design of a 2 story residential house + an attic, located in Yukio LN NE, Brainbridge, Island, WA.
The exterior bearing walls sit on stem walls and for the ground floor there are 2 rows of piers which support the girder beams and these girder beams support the joists.
The 2-row girder beams on the first floor are supported by 4 columns which are hidden into interior walls.
A roof rafter ridge beam system has been considered for the roof structure. To reduce the ridge beam size the roof has been supported by 2 columns continuing the columns from the first floor.
